Josh Paschal named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week

Congratulations to Josh Paschal, who was just named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance vs. Eastern Michigan on Saturday.

In the fourth quarter, the freshman linebacker blocked a critical punt for an 18-yard loss, setting up Benny Snell’s 12-yard touchdown run on the next play to put the game out of reach. He also pressured the Eastern Michigan quarterback into a third down incompletion on the prior play and had a half sack in the first quarter, earning him “Blitz Cousin” status with mentors Denzil Ware and Josh Allen.

“He upgraded to Blitz Cousin,” Ware said with a laugh after the game.  “I’m just playing man. Paschal, he does a lot of good things that people really don’t notice. He’s still the baby out of all of us, so he’s still going to be Blitz Baby, but at the end of the day, I’m just proud that he did something and had fun out there.”

When we got this kid I was more excited about him then Lynn B. His highlight tapes were nasty. Granted my favorite part of football has always been Defense but this kid is going to be a monster for years to come.

Mrs. TT this play as great as it was did not out the game out of reach at all. EMU was in position to make a play at the end of the game to get the win.
