For all of the fans in the stands, we knew a win over Missouri would be a de facto bowl berth. Some of the players are just as joyous, but Stoops’ “unsatisfied” theme has sunk in.
“It was a good road SEC win for us, but we still have some games ahead of us that are must-wins,” Boom Williams said after the game.
Blake McClain shared a similar sentiment, but he was more enthusiastic than Boom. “I’ve been here three years and I haven’t had this feeling since I’ve been here.”
“It does feel like a big win, but we’re trying to get to a bowl game. I’m all ready. I’m not gonna lie, I’m already focused on Georgia, to be honest,” McClain said.
Even though he’s excited, he’s not getting too ahead of himself. He remembers when they were in a similar position. “Satisfied is back two years ago. We were were 5-1 and didn’t get a bowl game. We’re trying to go all the way this year.”
Jeff Badet was there for it all. To see the results now is rewarding.
“It’s crazy.” Badet’s excitement began to get the best of him when he started thinking about how far they’ve come. “Just seeing how we’ve waited so long and then everything’s clicking. It’s like a sigh of relief, but we’re not finished yet.”
A bowl would be big, but that’s not enough for Boom. “I don’t want to think of it as just getting bowl eligible; we want to continue this.”
