Isaiah Gibson with a small, but thoughtful gesture to make you smile

UK’s Fan Day for football was yesterday. It was the first opportunity since the Spring Game for fans to truly get a look at what the Cats will be this season.

If you’d like to hear stories about what went on on the field, be sure to scroll down as our crew killed the coverage from the new football facility.

As I logged into social media this morning, I saw this tweet and it immediately made me smile.

I am not sure how you can’t love this small gesture. The UK lineman might not remember this moment in the coming months and years, but you better believe that this dad and his sons will NEVER forget it.

We all have little memories of being the age of the two boys in the photo, I still remember one time that Bengals player Domata Peko stopped to sign autographs one day after the Bengals were blown out in a home game. I might have been a little older than the boys in the picture, but the memory still sticks with me.

Ryan Hillenbrand, who sent the tweet, explains how proud he is of what the staff is doing and I couldn’t agree more. Did these moments happen under the previous staff? I would be shocked if they didn’t, but it is moments like this that these two guys will never forget. Good for you Isaiah.

Do you have a moment like this? Where a UK athlete gave you the time of day as a kid? Or did the same to one of your kids? Share it with us in the comments. There is a lot to frown about in the world today, so let’s try and brighten everyone’s mood with stories like this.

Played in the NBA2Louisville golf fundraiser this spring with my adult son. Afterward Art Still approached us in the parking lot and chatted for several minutes. Super nice guy and very down to earth. Made my day. Many other UK/UL athletes were there as well along with many former pros. Mike Pratt, Artis Gilmore, Sonny Collins, Louie Dampier, and Kenny Walker were exceptionally gracious with their time along with many others.
