INJURY REPORT: Offensive Guards are Game Time Decisions

The Wildcats could be without two starting offensive linemen when the team travels to Tuscaloosa this Saturday to take on Alabama.

Offensive guards Kenneth Horsey and Luke Fortner were unable to play Saturday against Vanderbilt after suffering a knee injury and an ankle injury against Georgia, respectively. Fortner, a senior leader on the offensive line, dressed and tried to play for his fallen coach, but the pain was too much to endure.

“Luke tried to go. He wanted so desperately to play this past week,” Mark Stoops said Monday. “He went in there and just played one snap, wasn’t able to do it so we’ll have to wait and see how the week goes.”

As for if they’ll be able to return this Saturday, Stoops said, “we’ll see.”

Austin Dotson filled the void at right guard and at left guard we saw Quintin Wilson play his first significant snaps as a Wildcat. The redshirt sophomore is the next in line to replace Drake Jackson at center. Kentucky’s head coach liked what he saw from the Cincinnati native.

“I thought Quintin did a nice job. He played hard. He did some good things,” Stoops said.

Well at least some of our younger guys are getting some playing time. We are going to be terrible next year smh. We really should be thinking of the future and getting the younger guys more playing time.

He should bench them and let them heal since Terry’s starting, he won’t need them because he wins big games all by himself….;). No Benny or Allen to take the win away from him means he gets to shine as the awsome guy he is.
