Halftime update: Angry Stoops still really angry

screen-shot-2016-12-31-at-11-50-11-am

Mark Stoops is not a happy man. Between Georgia Tech’s cut blocking, his team’s performance, and some seriously questionable officiating, Stoops has been furious on the sideline this afternoon. Here’s Stoops going after the officials over what should have been a targeting call:

And going into halftime after losing a challenge that resulted in Georgia Tech getting a last second field goal to go up 20-3:

Stoops’ rant didn’t end there. According to reporters on the scene, on his way through the tunnel at halftime, Stoops kicked the officials’ locker room door, punched an equipment box, and knocked over a Gatorade cooler before his staff pulled him into the locker room.

Yikes.

Lets face it…the problem is that UK has no real QB. I give Johnson a lot of credit for being a steady hand…but the fact is he is not an SEC caliber QB. Teams do not respect his ability to throw the ball and our entire offense is extremely basic. Cats were lucky to win as many as they did. We can only hope Barker reclaims the job and is 100% healthy next year.

We can only hope Barker comes back since he has all those wins under his belt… Wait, what wins? Barker is not good either. I’d take Johnson over what we’ve seen from Barker.

Johnson just threw his way to our only touchdown so far.

Barker is a bigger disaster than Johnson is. Johnson can at least do some positive when flushed out of the pocket and/or pressured. Barker lost to Southern Miss, enough said.

  2. That targeting may have been shoulder to helmet, but my Bengals lost a playoff game last year in part due to Vontez Burfict being called for targeting bc of a shoulder to helmet hit. Is the rule any different in college? I wouldn’t think so.
