After one half of play, your Kentucky Wildcats trail the Missouri Tigers 10-3, and man, it has not been pretty so far.
Kentucky came out flat from the start, accumulating only 23 yards of offense in the first quarter, prompting a quarterback change. Joey Gatewood took over with 10:57 to go in the half and thanks to a 29-yard run by AJ Rose and a 50-yard field goal from Matt Ruffolo, the Cats got on the board. Unfortunately, the spark did not last. Kentucky went three-and-out on the next drive, but thankfully, the defense held Mizzou to a field goal. So far, the Cats only have 65 yards of total offense to Missouri’s 219, nine passing yards to Connor Bazelak’s 125. The SEC Nation crew put it best when they joked, “Does Kentucky know the forward pass is legal?” Harsh, but true.
The only thing worse than Kentucky’s offense right now? The background sound on the broadcast. Big week for the mute button. Here’s hoping for a better second half.
