Hal Mumme’s Facebook status isn’t making us feel any better

Former UK head coach Hal Mumme poured some salt in Big Blue Nation’s wounds with a late-night Facebook status following the Cats’ heartbreaking loss. Mumme congratulated Shannon Dawson, who he once coached with at Southeastern Louisiana, calling him his “former brilliant assistant” and the “smartest football coach” he’s know for awhile.

Gained a lot of respect for Mumme for his standing up against the political correctness that followed the country after terrorists attacked us on 9/11, just like Trump is doing today.

Shame to see he made such a petty post on Facebook.

      How is that tweet petty?

He’s supporting a colleague and friend.

He has no reason to be “loyal” to Kentucky Football.

His loyalty is to friends and family.

Hypersensitive Kentucky Football fans always looking for a reason to be sour.

Dear Hal: You’re a cheater, that’s why you got fired. You had a good idea with the Air Raid for about a season until literally every coach in the SEC — all of whom are smarter, harder-working and better than you — figured your gimmick out. If you think rubbing UK’s noses in this is your way of trying to insinuate that UK fires great coaches — like you and Shannon Dawson — you’re wrong. You made a lot of money at UK because you had 1 good idea with a shelf-life of about 1 year. Your laziness and lack of integrity then caught up to you. And you have continued to suck since you got fired at UK. So please, go f*ck yourself, you POS. Your tweet confirms that you are still an immature tool. Signed: The entire BBN.

      Dear Doc,

      Take a pill.

You’re need to be validated as a Football fan has caused you to take leave of your senses and to find slight in anything.

Mumme didn’t tag UK or UK Football. He made a post supporting and congratulating a friend and colleague.

      You don’t speak for BBN.

Joe B. Hall was caught in a worse cheating scandal than Hal Mumme.

Don’t get me wrong. I love Joe B. and what happened back in the ’70s doesn’t affect my opinion of the man.

However, it is hypocritical to talk all of that smack about Hal and to vilify him and to turn right around and pretend that it the same thing didn’t occur with someone who is a beloved member of the Basketball Program.

Would you write that petty nonsense about Hall? If not, why not? If you won’t, you are a hypocrite.

Dear Wah Wah: No, I wouldn’t say anything bad about Joe B. Hall because Joe B. Hall was NOT “caught in a worse cheating scandal than Hal Mumme,” genius. “FACT.” You must be thinking of Eddie Sutton. I would write a paragraph about irony here but I don’t think you’d understand it. UK may have fired a football coach in its history who went on to great things (Bear Bryant comes to mind) but Hal Mumme isn’t one of them. His stint at New Mexico State and other places and his last coaching gig at Belhaven (where?) is pretty good evidence that he’s managed to work himself DOWN the coaching ladder. Oh, and if you look up Mumme’s time at New Mexico State, you’ll learn he got himself and the University sued because he harassed a Muslim player. Ended up costing the University a couple hundred grand. Seeing that and your ridiculously pathetic and uninformed posts about him now makes your comment about having a “Christian” in the White House make sense. Joe B. Hall “was caught in a worse cheating scandal than Hal Mumme” and President Obama is a Muslim. I get it. You and Mumme are fellow travelers.

P.S. Kentucky has fired many coaches who went on to have great careers. They’ve won Super Bowls and National Championships AFTER departing Kentucky Football. That’s not an insinuation. That is plain fact.

FACT: something that actually exists; reality; truth: Your fears have no basis in fact.

Hal is probably right. It’s very obvious the problem wasn’t with the offensive coordinator

Didn’t they have a segment during the game where they said they’re going to rename the street in-between the stadium and Nutter? Wasn’t that street once named Hal Mumme Way?
