Before he makes plays on Sundays, get to know the Wildcat that will be one of the SEC’s best safeties this fall.
In the second edition of Freddie Maggard’s Behind the Facemask, the pair played a little ping pong. Edwards talked about life as a fan-favorite, his potential future fighting crime, but most importantly, the All-SEC defender revealed how he got his nickname, “The Bagder.” Like a Marvel comic book movie, it has its own origin story.
“I get superpowers with this hair,” he said.
It’s not hyperbole to describe his set of skills as superpowers. This season he will become just the second UK defensive back to ever record more than 300 tackles. He is not too far away from reaching UK’s career interceptions record after picking off four passes in 2017, increasing his career total to eight.
