Today the 6-1 Kentucky Wildcats travel to Missouri for a 4:00 kickoff on the SEC Network. Mark Stoops has taken down the Tigers three years in a row. To make it four, the struggling UK offense must be able to match Missouri’s uptempo attack.
Led by Drew Lock, the Missouri offense has obliterated non-conference opponents, but has yet to win an SEC game. The nation’s No. 12 offense must face Kentucky’s 12th-ranked defense. With Josh Allen attacking Lock and an experienced secondary waiting to cash in on any mistakes, UK’s defense will take some pressure off their offensive counterparts.
Terry Wilson will be the Cats’ starting quarterback, but the coaches are preparing Gunnar Hoak and Danny Clark for game action. Only time will tell if either gets an opportunity. One player we have yet to see in action that will surely play today is Chance Poore. The plan was to use freshman placekicker in only four games as a redshirt. Now the plan is to simply send kicks consistently through the uprights.
After spending a night in downtown Columbia, the “experts” no longer have me worried. College football analysts might believe in Mizzou, but the fans do not. Of the dozen or so Tiger fans I spoke to, the only one who believed in his team didn’t realize there was a game today. If you’re still concerned about Kentucky, and that didn’t change your mind, this might:
- 12:45 CT — The Cat Walk near the Southeast corner of the Farot Field
- 1:00 — The KSR Pregame show begins on 630 WLAP
- 1:05 — Keeneland First Post
- 2:00 — Countdown to Kickoff w/Christi Thomas, Jeremy Jarmon and Dusty Bonner
- 4:00 — Kickoff on the SEC Network
How to Watch and Listen
Taylor Zarzour, Matt Stinchcomb and Kris Budden are on the call for the SEC Network. If you’re stuck on the road and can’t watch, there are multiple ways to listen to The Voice of the Wildcats.
- AM: 840 WHAS, 630 WLAP
- FM: 98.1 WBUL
- Satellite: XM-191 and Sirius-103

Cats get Two Commits
Last night Vince Marrow stole another talented football player from the city of Louisville. Three-Star outside linebacker Shawnkel Knight-Goff picked the Cats over the Cards during Senior Night ceremonies at Doss High School. The ninth-ranked player in the state is Kentucky’s 19th commitment in the 2019 class, the second from the city of Louisville and third from the Commonwealth.
Knight-Goff wasn’t the only player to pledge his allegiance to UK. Alpharetta, Georgia wide receiver Micah White has accepted a role as a preferred walk-on at Kentucky. White isn’t your typical walk-on. The 6’5″ pass-catcher had scholarship offers from Kansas and a few MAC schools. Watch White and Knight-Goff do work.
I’m extremely blessed and excited to say that I have committed to continue my education and football career at The University of Kentucky as a pwo!!!! pic.twitter.com/ZwOCwcN8vT

The computers aren’t the biggest Kentucky fans, but two of the most prominent websites believe the Cats will at least cover the 7-point spread. Oddhsark predicts UK to lose 33.8-26.6 while the S&P+ have the Cats falling 29-25.
Go Georgia Bulldogs!
For one day the entire Big Blue Nation is behind the Georgia Bulldogs. Tied with Kentucky at the top of the SEC East standings, if the Bulldogs beat Florida in the World’s Largest Cocktail Party, UK’s road to the SEC Championship Game is easier. They will need a Georgia win and only one over Mizzou or Tennessee to play in Atlanta. If Florida beats Georgia, the Cats must win out, no small task.
Not only will a Georgia win make it easier on the Cats, it will likely thrust next Saturday’s game into the CBS spotlight. Game time for the showdown with Georgia will be announced later tonight. Until then, Go Dawgs!
That was Fun
