Future Cats take to Twitter after loss to UofL

635541029687341354-jackson

It’s natural to worry about the state of the upcoming recruiting class after yesterday’s disappointing loss to Louisville. It was very apparent yesterday that we will need some new blood in order to compete in next year’s tough schedule, so we need to keep the recruits that we already have. Lucky for us, some took to Twitter to ease the mind of the Big Blue Nation.

However, cornerback Tobias Gilliam’s tweet was less than reassuring.

You mean the ACC that went 4-0 against the SEC on rivalry weekend last season, and 3-1 this season? The ACC who has the current #1 ranked team in the nation?

      You mean that ACC?

So what is this about you guys would have a better record if you played an “easy” schedule like us? LOL

LOL. I’m sure UNC would be 8-0 in the SEC, too… 😉

But hey, congrats to Clemson for narrowly beating a coach-less USCjr team (that UK beat)!!!

I guess all those other teams “successes” makes Louisville a juggernaut, right? LMAO

      Also, whores.

Well having uk on the schedule sure doesn’t help our SOS, that’s for sure. Juggernaut? Not quite. This was a rebuilding year anyway. When Lamar took over starting over Reggie in the second game of the season we had 6 true freshmen starting on the O…and we still had a season you guys can only dream of and playing against a tougher schedule.

As for as Clemson goes, let me remind you Ohio St got blown out at home by a bad Va Tech team last season. That’s college football. It happens. Alabama struggled with a bad Auburn team that both you guys and us should have beaten. Your comparisons only highlight the gross lack of knowledge uk fans have about college football.

As far as the probation goes (if we get it, which is likely), maybe you can give Lil’ Bro some advice on that seeing as how Big Bro is the king daddy of cheating and landing in the NCAA jail house through out history.

With all of your experience, how would you say I should feel about it if it does happen?

    • UK Big Board Update
      3:26 pm November 29, 2015 Permalink

Actually, you should ask Kansas (they’ve had the most) or yourselves (since you’ve been in trouble 4 times, soon to be 5, since our last, which was nearly 30 years ago).

I wasn’t alive the last time UK was on probation.

      🙂

26 years ago actually for basketball. Closer to 25 than 30.

For football its only been 15 years since uk was in trouble. Your football team has been on probation multiple times too, just like basketball. U of L football has never been charged with an NCAA violation.

Big Bro is still king daddy at getting in NCAA hot water.

I guess we will see what happens this time with U of L. I am reasonable enough to think there is going to be at least some probation. No way to know much at this point though. Some of the women in the book have filed a lawsuit claiming a bunch of it is made up. I can believe that, but I don’t believe it is all made up.

Scorpiocard – What is more telling, is when looking at the games UofL won, their opponents had a composite RPI of 107……..THAT! is real dominance coming off of really good Cholly Srong years with Petrino at the helm. You guys have a real powerhouse there. Your best win was over #60 RPI NC State and you beat no teams other than NC State in the top 100.

      Really?

      6:47 pm November 29, 2015 Permalink

Scorpiocard – Whoa there little buddy. UofL BARELY escaped the death penalty in 1998 (google it). Even Tom Jurich is on record talking about what a disaster UofL athletics was. UofL recieved probation in 96 for violations, and were found to have comitted violations while on probation. Schumaker and Jurich had to plead with the NCAA not to give UofL the death penalty. Only because of a scumbag named Glazier and a clerical error by the NCAA did UofL escape. SO let’s not talk about NCAA infractions.
Coaches paying for players to have sex with ghetto ratchets is a unacceptable benefit as defined by the NCAA. A coach paying for players to have sex with underage ghetto ratchets is Statutory Rape.

This meltdown will be a classic…I got the popcorn ready

Think REAL HARD of what you are about to do young men. This program has not improved in 3 years. It has regressed not progressed. This is a life-changing decision. 80 teams are going to Bowls. UK is not. You decide.

….and the trolls are back in full force. No we did not have the season we wanted, but your boy Petrino IS regressing…so you may want to spend more time enjoying your win than trying to scare off our recruits. Enjoy that shot of Crown

Your post disgraces the name of Denny Crum, who I believe is a good man and great coach. Let me re-write the post for you:

Yes, think real hard about what you are about to do here young men. There is a huge opportunity here at UK for those who are forward-thinking and are eager to accept a challenge. If you are up for the challenge, then I say take advantage of this wonderful opportunity before you and grab it by the horns. The overwhelming majority of BBN appreciates all of you and looks forward to you coming on board and making a difference. We will be there to support you through the good times and the tough times. Ignore the grumblings of a few clueless “fans.”

If I was C.J. Conrad I would definitely transfer. Dawson has no clue how to utilize a tight end in an offense. Dawson will just arrogantly continue to yap about how Conrad is “just about” ready to be used. Dawson is Kentucky’s version of Louisville’s Ron Cooper. Arrogant fancy talker but incompetent. Conrad is a stud and would be a star elsewhere with future NFL potential but instead will regress and be wasted here.

And all of our full backs. Hate to tell Dawson, but they CAN run the ball, too. Did a full back get a touch all season?

Kentucky opens with Southern Mississippi next year which is currently 9-3 and playing Western KY this week in the C-USA title game. If UK plays that opening game like they did against Louisiana Lafayette this year, the whole season might be derailed.

No, that is not true. Stoops came in after the disaster that was Joker. At that point we were about as low as it got. Stoops improved from year 2 to year 3. The concern is that the improvement during the first part of year 3 seems to have gone away. We have looked as bad in recent games as a UK team has ever looked, and the coaches seem to be clueless. That is the concern.

Personally, I think Stoops is moving in the right direction. I think his recruiting has been a big plus. But I have no faith in our OC or DC. I think Dawson has been a complete disaster. Stoops needs to make the changes needed to move the program forward. That is what a head coach is supposed to do.

How many new assistants have we had in the three years Stoops has been here? Are college players good at learning brand new offenses or defenses every single year?

I think recruiting just got easier for next year. There are 11 open starting positions on offense and 11 open starting positions on defense. Yea I know the coaches have been telling recruits the same thing for the past 3 years, but this year we really mean it.

So Towles is transferring, and there aren’t a bunch of posts about how much better we will be? I HATE that he is going to transfer, but for him I think it is in his best interest and I hope he kills it wherever he goes. He did not have the kinda season he wanted, but the kid loved UK and was classy in how he handled adversity.

And btw….for the vocal minority of fans who blamed far too much on him, there are linemen on the way that will do wonders for this offense….along with maturation of the current team….that Pat never got the benefit of playing behind…but NOT ONCE did you hear him diss his teammates. Classy kid

    • Bluecreeker
      6:53 pm November 29, 2015 Permalink

I don’t think he should be blamed for anything but his lack of accuracy on short throws, and his decision making. He threw the ball into double and triple overages way too many times. He had little to work with coming from Dawson…..but the errors I saw should not be made by a red shirt junior in the SEC. He’s a good kid, hope he goes somewhere and gets some development.

This program is a total train-wreck. Neal Brown saw it and left. Patrick Towels sees it and is leaving. Snodgrass??? You don’t think he’s as good or better than the receivers that played yesterday. This program isn’t close to being competitive. 4 wins MAYBE next year and you boys who have committed BUT NOT SIGNED want to come to Lexington to play? In front of a 1/2 filled stadium??? Read the message boards of all the fans NOT renewing season tickets. Boys, THINK HARD.
