Freshman tight end Keaton Upshaw injured, will redshirt

Freshman tight end Keaton Upshaw wasn’t included on this week’s depth chart and now we know why. Mark Stoops just announced Upshaw was injured in practice last week and will be out for the year. He will redshirt.

In other injury news, Stoops expects starting linebacker Boogie Watson to return to the lineup this week after missing the Murray State game with a calf injury. Nose guard Quinton Bohanna also missed Saturday’s game with a sprained ankle, but Stoops said in his postgame remarks that he’s likely to play vs. Mississippi State.

I hope it’s not too bad. It sucks an injury will be the cause of his redshirt. I’m sure he and the coaches would rather him be healthy and redshirt while still being able to fully participate in practice and with the Strength and Conditioning Coach.
