Four Wildcats Earn AP All-SEC Honors

Kentucky’s Big Blue Wall was well represented on the Associated Press’ 2020 All-SEC Team. Three players from UK’s offensive line received the prestigious honor.

Offensive tackle Darian Kinnard was Kentucky’s sole first team selection. Landon Young filled the tackle position on the second team alongside Drake Jackson at center. 2019 Ray Guy Award Winner Max Duffy was selected as the second team punter.

All three offensive linemen made the coaches team as well, with Young and Kinnard flipping spots between the first and second team. Surprisingly, this is Duffy’s first 2020 postseason accolade.

Aside from Auburn’s Tank Bigsby winning Newcomer of the Year, Alabama owned the individual awards. Nick Saban is Coach of the Year, Patrick Surtain II is Defensive Player of the Year and Devonta Smith is Offensive Player of the Year, perhaps forecasting what might happen when Heisman voters out choose between the Alabama wide receiver, Kyle Trask, Justin Fields and Mac Jones.
