The very next day, though, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops said in his weekly press conference that the former three-star prospect was quitting the game of football altogether. "Shawn'Kel checked out a couple, maybe, oh, two or three weeks ago or so," Stoops said. "Told me he was very much not interested in playing football anymore. He said he lost the motivation and the desire to play the game." Stoops said the former Wildcat was a great kid, but just wanted to focus on school and life outside of football moving forward. "I really like him. He's a great person, really good kid, great family, just want him to be successful," he said. "He told me just he wanted to go to school, and but I have to try to help motivate him in that area, too. But he wasn't interested in pursuing football anymore." Fast forward just over seven weeks, and the former pass-rusher out of Doss High School in Louisville has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal, indicating he is considering a return to football at another school. Josh Edwards of 247Sports was the first to report the news. https://twitter.com/JEdwarCBS/status/1204444811782168576?s=20 Knight-Goff had a back-and-forth recruitment, committing to Kentucky back on May 18, 2018 before decommitting on May 31, and then committing once again on Oct. 26 He ultimately signed with the program over offers from Louisville, Purdue, Indiana, and Iowa State, among others.
