Former football Cats face-off in preseason game

The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Green Bay Packers today as the Steelers defeated the Packers 24-19. Steeler rookies Bud Dupree and Braylon Heard played in their first home game at Heinz Field.

Heard got his first snap late in the third quarter with a run up the middle for no gain. Heard got four more carries in the black and gold before the end of the game. The Steelers recorded six sacks, two coming from Dupree. One of Dupree’s sacks resulted in a safety and Pittsburgh’s first points of the game.

“I just feel like things are starting to come together a little bit, just being patient,” Dupree said. “I know eventually I’m going to keep doing good and get better and better each week.”

Randall Cobb lead the Packers in receiving with one reception for 30 yards. Cobb was only targeted once in the Packers second preseason game. Cobb will likely become Rogers’ No. 1 receiver with the ACL injury to Jordy Nelson.

“I’m just hoping everything’s all right with Jordy,” Cobb said. “I haven’t really thought about any of the other stuff right now.”

Tim Masthay eight punts totaled for 346 yards with the longest punt coming in at 56 yards.

Braylon Heard would fall down or get injured if he got touched in college how the hell is he even in a position to be running the ball at an NFL level. Boom Williams is twice the back Heard ever was. He sucked.
