Florida Suspends All Football Activities due to COVID-19

It doesn’t sound like Dan Mullen will be able to Pack The Swamp this weekend.

After the fourth-ranked Gators were upset by Texas A&M in front of a relatively large Kyle Field crowd, the Florida head coach used his postgame press conference to ask the school’s administration to open up Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to a maximum capacity crowd for this week’s game against LSU. Things have changed quite a bit since that fiery speech.

Early Tuesday Florida announced that five football players tested positive for COVID-19. A few hours later athletics director Scott Stricklin announced that all Florida football activities have been suspended due to an uptick in cases. The suspension in play for the nation’s tenth-ranked team will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.

As of now, the LSU-Florida game is still a go for Saturday afternoon at 4 pm ET. If postponed it would be the second SEC game sidelined by COVID-19 this fall. An outbreak at Vanderbilt forced the league to move Saturday’s game against Missouri to Dec. 12.

They said the football team has experienced an increase in COVID? Does that mean they already had players test positive prior? The FL governor doesn’t give a shit about COVID anyway. He has let that state run rampant.

Asked the NY governor how many he killed by issuing an executive to put in covid patients into nursing homes that killed over 12,000 elderly while he had ship and hospitals with empty beds. Florida governor didn’t do that. So who is the one that doesn’t care. Get your facts straight.

He was staying a fact about the Florida governor. Just like you stated one about the NY Governor. There are always more than 1 right answer. You just got triggered because Florida is a conservative state. Both governors are shite, neither of you are wrong. People need to realize this pandemic isn’t political in the slightest. All of our leaders have screwed up, from the president on down. Fighting about this stuff doesn’t help anyone and doesn’t bring back our loved ones we have lost. That’s over 215 THOUSAND in this country and yet there are still people who think it’s a hoax and won’t wear masks because it infringes on their rights or whatever they say. Country full of morons.

You’re exactly right about Gov. DeSantis. He may be the worst governor in the country. All he does is run around the state & hold press conferences. Then they fire the person in charge of running the Covid reporting system. He tries to control the narrative & will not allow local health departments to report their numbers to the press. Then this past week, Florida didn’t report any numbers at all. Kentucky has more access to testing than Florida.

Blueballs, Pensacola is right. Those of us IN Florida count ourselves lucky we have our governor and not yours. We’re open. We’re healthy. And Miami isn’t Florida, it’s New York w no taxes and no snow, the rest of the state is fine. You stay up there though, bubble boy. We’ll be at the beach.

The numbers being reported are not accurate. Hospitals are being paid a 20% premium for handling covid deaths. So if you are admitted to a hospital and die from a heart attack while being tested positive they say they died from covid to get that more money. Follow the many trail.

The numbers are not accurate by design, even the CDC reflected this when they quietly updated their stats. Phil is right, hospitals are being incentivized to skew the numbers, people with pre-existing conditions are dying with corona not from it, there is still no reliable test for the virus and mad architect is still FOS.

So, basically, several players have the equivalent of a common cold. And not one of them will be sick for more than a few days. And none of them are in any danger of dying. But the left will tell you otherwise.

By the Way, The World Health Organization issued a statement yesterday that lock downs don’t work. But you leftist will continuing spewing your lies to scare the amercan people to vote for a candidate that doesn’t even know what state he is in.

Then if he wins they can issue the 25th amendment on him and make Harris the president. Now you will have a Marxist as a US president.

Here we go with the conspiracy theorists. So TrueBluePhil you are saying that hospitals are knowingly falsifying records and committing medicare fraud to make more money? While it is true hospitals are paid a 20% premium for Covid patients, it is because they were forced to suspend so many routine out-patient services due to the outbreak. A give-a-way to major corporations for sure, but not some grand conspiracy. If anything, current research indicates a significant under-count of Covid deaths. Here’s a fact check for your edification:
At the end of the day, we all know the Trump Administration has perpetrated a massive cover-up to keep the orange narcissist from looking bad and has completely dropped the ball on covid. The USA has the worst record in the world in dealing with this pandemic…that is undisputed…and is going to result in an landslide election of rebuke in 3 weeks. The blue wave is coming folks and this will be yet another mess the Democrats have to clean up.

They said 2 million people would die in 2020 in the United States and that hasn’t happened. Do you want to give Trump any credit for that or do you just want to blame him for the deaths? Trump put the travel ban on China on 1-31-2020. Pelosi and the New York Mayor criticized him to no end. Trump can’t win with some of you even if he turned into Jesus Christ right before your eyes!!!!

The Trump admin numbers say roughly 7-8 million infected with 215,000 dead. Both are obviously undercounts. Still, that is just under 3% death rate according to CDC totals. For argument sake, lets say 10 million have actually been infected (counting the asymptomatic)…that is still only 3% of the population! Research shows that if this were to go unchecked and hospitals overwhelmed, most patients would not get the treatment they need to survive (medication, ventilators, etc.). Our system can’t handle it, so the death rate would actually rise. Modeling experts say if left unchecked within a year 40% of the population would get it. 40% of 330 million is 132 million…and even at a 2% death rate…that is nearly 2 million dead…effectively doubling the rate of death for all causes in the US. So yeah…same as the common flu…smh.

Cats646…you are a garbage human being. God forbid your mom or dad gets it and dies. This right wing talking point has been de-bunked over and over. There are tens of thousands upon thousands of people who died that were perfectly fine and healthy before dying from this disease. Sure, some had underlying health conditions like high blood pressure or repressed immune system due to cancer or some other malady…but to say they were going to die anyway is heartless and just plain ignorant. The facts are facts…not your made-up BS just to fit your narrative. You idiot conspiracy theorists are sad individuals. Psychologists say that you tend to gravitate to these stupid concepts to make yourself feel better about your own inadequacies and pathetic lives. Like you know some inside knowledge that scientists and smarter people than you around the world don’t know. But we’d all be better off if you all just kept your ignorance to yourself.

JohnnyCat…. I had Covid last week. Was around my entire family while I had it. My mom got it. My sister got it. All of us had a runny nose and very mild flu symptoms for about 3 days. This thing is not even close to as deadly as your left wing heroes are pushing it to be just to fit their narrative. The people dying from “Covid” for the most part are actually dying of other diseases. Yes there are a few who have died from Covid, but no more than die from the flu each year. Your “experts” (CDC) even came out with a statement a couple months ago how the number of people who have actually died from Covid was around 9,000. Nothing about what I’m saying is a conspiracy theory. It’s just basic politics. Both sides skew facts tremendously just to fit their narrative. I also don’t know why you think my life is pathetic lol, I’m 25 years old and have experienced more than most men ever get to in their lifetimes. I’ve been extremely lucky to have been able to start my first business at 19, travel the world, etc. Btw, my aunt is a psychologist, and if you’re getting your world view from people like her, then I have to laugh at you. While she, like most other psychologists, is extremely smart, she’s also insane. Psychologists are just as crazy as their patients most of the time lol. I really hate the fact that me stating a fact makes you think I’m a “garbage human being” but hey, you liberals always have been the hateful ones living in your false realities put in your head by the likes of psychologists lol. Here’s to hoping you can get some hate out of your heart. Have a good day kid.

Just so I’m clear on some of the theses above: if kids act like kids, and hang out together knowing there is virtually no risk of them getting more than cold symptoms (which happens every year), then the Governor is to blame. So, next year, when college kids go to student health w the flu, or cold, or pneumonia, and they caught it at a fraternity party or in dorm, it’s the governor’s fault? And by extension, if kids act like kids, the President is responsible? So when they die from drinking too much or in a car accident, which happens every year and is, strictly speaking ENTIRELY preventable if we take away cars (just “defund” schools which allow cars, see how easy that is?) THEN, the President, who could issue executive orders (whether enforceable or not) has blood on his hands, too? I’m just getting the ground rules straight for who to blame… I assume Beshear is to blame for UK’s cases, too? Are we agreed on the rules here or will they change to suit the politics?
