ESPN released their top five running backs in the SEC and Benny Snell is not happy

ESPN just released their top five running backs in the SEC for the upcoming year, and UK sophomore RB Benny Snell was not happy when he found out he was not included on the list.

The top five running backs included:

  1. Derrius Guice, LSU
  2. Nick Chubb, Georgia
  3. Bo Scarbrough, Alabama
  4. Kamryn Pettway, Auburn
  5. Ralph Webb, Vanderbilt

Here is the original tweet/link and Snell’s response:

“L O L.”

As a freshman, Benny Snell rushed for 1091 yards and 13 touchdowns on 186 carries, breaking the school record for most rushing yards by a freshman in history.

Here is the stat breakdown of the five backs on ESPN’s list:

  1. Derrius Guice rushed for 1387 yards and 15 touchdowns on 183 carries.
  2. Nick Chubb rushed for 1130 yards and eight touchdowns on 224 carries.
  3. Bo Scarbrough rushed for 812 yards and 11 touchdowns on 125 carries.
  4. Kamryn Pettway rushed for 1224 yards and seven touchdowns on 209 carries.
  5. Ralph Webb 1283 yards and 13 touchdowns on 250 carries.

Do you think Benny should’ve been included in the top five?

Could we have Freddie Maggard break down each rb & post his thoughts?

He should be third on this list, Chubb and the kid from LSU are really really good. But Benny is above the other three.

Benny would be a Heisman candidate at AL, LSU, or GA.

Without Boom Williams in the rotation Benny could have rushed for 1500 yards last season. He will be huge this year.

I understand why they did at this point. He had a very good freshman year as the #2, let’s see what he does without Boom wearing down the D before we put him top 5. The positive takeaway is that Benny will be running even more pissed off after seeing the list.

Some games boom was ineffective from the jump and Snell made it happen. Snell is a beast, but UK wont get individual player love until we win more games we arent supposed to.

Is Vandy’s Ralph Webb ever going to leave?

I Snell more anti-UK bias at ESPN. It stinks!

It seems like Chubb has been at UGA forever. He must be going on 40 years old he has to slow down sometime doesn’t he?

They dont hand out awards in the pre season, if were here to talk about that stuff, get ready to be disappointed. I love the under dog look for UK football! No one has earned anything yet and its time to stay hungry and take the respect that they deserve.
