ESPN projects UK to the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl

ESPN’s Heather Dinich says if the season ended today Kentucky would play Central Florida in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.

Of course the season doesn’t end today, but the Fiesta Bowl isn’t one that we have tossed around much. We’ve talked about the Sugar, Peach, Outback and Citrus, but there hasn’t been too much discussion about the Cats heading out to Glendale.

The Fiesta Bowl is Jan. 1st (a Tuesday) at 1 p.m. That would be an early start local time.

Here’s why Dinish put UK in the Fiesta Bowl:

Don’t want it – give us a matchup against an established program. UCF is a no win proposition. Let Florida play them – we want the Buckeyes.

Agree…we get nothing out of playing UCF anywhere. We lose and they say see UK was not very good. We win and they say well they played UCF. Plus who the hell wants to go to Tempe vs Catlanta, Tampa or Orlando. Besides none of this matters, we going to the Cotton or Orange Bowl for the playoff semi-final. Actually entered my request for Bowl tix today through UK, put in for the cotton, orange, outback, citrus, peach but did not put fiesta down.

Why stick UK with a trash Cinderella team that has 0 to lose and UK 0 to win. If we win its “oh well it was a Cinderlla team” or lose “of course UK would get beat”

Yes – remember when Louisville played Wake Forest in the Orange Bowl. It was a joke. Relative to the other bowl games and opponents playing UCF is not the same. It’s still a great opportunity and I would fully support but it’s not like playing a top tier Big 12, Big 10, or ACC opponent.

Love it. Want zero part of an established program. We couldn’t beat Northwestern with a better team on paper than this one.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. It clearly states if the the season ended today. We’re not going to stay at 9. We’re going to lose to GA. Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble, but we have no chance. And this is the last time I try and post a comment. This website has become a joke with all these ads.

UK has a chance. That’s why they play the game.

I’d love for UK to play UCF, because I’d love for a team that is super hyped to be in that position to absolutely destroy UCF. If UK isn’t in the playoffs, then I kind of do want UCF, to finally give them a loss.
