ESPN: Kentucky one of 15 teams still in the CFB Playoff Hunt

Right now, I think the ceiling of most Kentucky fans’ dreams for this team is an SEC Championship appearance, but ESPN has the Cats listed as one of 15 teams still in the hunt for the College Football Playoff.

“Style points matter little for an SEC title contender,” Mitch Sherman writes. “That’s a good thing because the Wildcats won ugly on Saturday, 14-7 at home over Vanderbilt. And yes, Kentucky remains in the mix, with a trip to Missouri before a Nov. 3 visit from Georgia that will likely settle the East division if both teams win this week.”

Other SEC schools on the list: Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, and Texas A&M.

If you’re like me, articles like this still make you feel like you need to pinch yourself, but if Kentucky can get the passing game back on track, the sky really is the limit.

6-1 is a great feeling. Especially with the remainder of the schedule. I do feel that UK can beat UGA. Before that happens the QB situation must be definitive. I personally dont feel that Wilson will be the one to beat UGA

Well if he doesn’t do it, then we won’t be beating Georgia….

6 out of 15 teams in the SEC, and we beat 1 of them and lost to another in OT. Not bad.

6/14 of all SEC teams were listed. 6/15 of all teams listed were SEC teams. What does that say about the state of our conference!

Not to be that guy but “get the passing game back on track”? UK hasn’t had a passing game all season. Yes Wilson to Bowden at Florida was big but When has the passing game been “on track”?
