Eastern Michigan’s QB named one of the best in the nation for Week 1

The next opposing quarterback on Kentucky’s schedule, Mike Glass III of Eastern Michigan, a third generation Mike Glass, had a big first weekend of his senior season. In fact, it was one of the best Week 1 performances among quarterbacks nationwide and he earned national recognition for it.

The Manning Award named Glass one of its eight Quarterbacks of the Week for Glass’ performance on the road against Coastal Carolina. A dual-threat quarterback (groan), Glass nearly threw a perfect game, connecting on 20 of his 22 passing attempts for three touchdowns, while rushing the ball seven times with another touchdown on the ground. He accounted for all four of Eastern Michigan’s touchdowns in the 30-23 victory.

Glass now leads the country in completion percentage and he extended his streak of games without throwing an interception to five.

At this time I will remind you that Eastern Michigan played Coastal Carolina last weekend. The same Coastal Carolina that was ranked 125th out of 130 college football teams in the preseason.

Don’t be afraid of Mike Glass III; just make a note of his Week 1 stats and Manning recognition.

Our defensive line should be able to maul their offense of line. If this happens their quarterback will not have nearly as much time to do damage.

Well they gave up 23 points to that bad team. Unless Eddie Gran holds us back we should score 40-50. Our defense is not Coastal Carolina either. I just hope we put this away early, stay healthy and get the backups some work. Would like to see Tisdale at RB and some of the younger LB’s, DL and OL guys. Mostly just get the win and stay healthy heading into next week.

Me too Mash. This should definitely be one of the four games for a lot of these kids. Hopefully, one or two show out enough that they become a big part of the team. May find a superstar this weekend. There’s always that player that doesn’t practice like the coaches like, but come game time he’s unbelievable.

Kick some glass would also be appropriate for this situation.
