Drew Barker was carted off to the locker room after tossing an interception on the Cats’ first possession and he did not return to the field.
When asked for an update on Barker in the postgame press conference, Stoops said, “I don’t know what the situation is. I’m not going to make any decision like that right now, obviously. He’s hurt. He has an injured back. He did go to the hospital to get it examined.”
Stoops believes Barker took a hard shot on the first play, before making “a very poor throw.”

Losers limp.,,
I think Barker should take the next 10 games off to heal his back. Johnson has poise and can actually escape a rush.
I think KSR should delete both your posts. Very poor taste. Johnson had a great game. Congrats. Hope drew gets better soon and hope he did not rupture a disk. Back injuries can be life changing, and not for the better. Drew is a big part of this season, and if you do not think he is an important part of the team then perhaps you should get over your shortsightedness. With all due respect of course.
Who is short in sight? You my friend are a fraud, Stoops is not the answer to what UK needs as a coach and Barker will never be the answer at quarterback. My comment in no way said anything but that Barker needs to ride the pine as he has never shown any progress since he has been here, and I do not wish him any ill will just stating the facts. You can keep drinking the Blue Kool Aid but that will not make this team better and I say this with all due respect of course.
It is not a fraud to speak the truth. Both comments appear to be sarcastic. If that is not how you meant it, then my apology. However, how can you say Barker is not the answer when he hasn’t even played, what, 4 full games yet? He looked like a young Tim Couch in the first half against SM. Our O-line broke down in the second half due to some fine adjustments by the opposing defense. Seems to me the kid deserves the benefit of the doubt until given the ample opportunity to prove himself.
