Drew Barker has returned from his back injury quicker than anticipated. Expected to play sparingly until this summer, Barker’s back was reevaluated after Spring Break. Feeling better, he was cleared to begin practicing.
I believed Barker’s return to practice meant he would participate in footwork and throwing drills, sprinkled in with some occasional 7v7 and a few snaps during team period. He did much, much more today.
Mark Stoops said Barker took 10 snaps today and led the offense to a touchdown in his only series at quarterback. At one point, Barker tucked the ball and ran it comfortably, Eddie Gran added.
This is not an April Fool’s joke. This is significant progress for the former four-star Kentucky quarterback prospect.
