Depth Chart: Changes at WR, No Quinton Bohanna

Kentucky’s depth chart following the Tennessee game is out and there are some changes to pass along.

Marquan McCall is listed as starting nose guard following Quinton Bohanna’s injury in Knoxville. True freshman Justin Rogers is his backup. Meanwhile, there is some shuffling at wide receiver, with freshman Mike “Donut” Drennen backing Josh Ali up at the F spot. At Z, Bryce Oliver remans the starter, and freshman Izayah Cummings is now listed at backup alongside Clevan Thomas. AJ Rose is still listed as the starting running back, and Chris Rodriguez the backup.

Hopefully we’ll get an update on Bohanna in today’s press conference, which starts in about five minutes.

    No surprise about RB1.

The fact that there are 12 freshman and 25 total underclassmen in the 2 deep should be a plus down the line.

Crazy that Chris isn’t RB1. He’s earned it. That means a bunch in recruiting. Tell the young kids that they can have their shot and there is no solid positions….and he has FAR out performed AJ, and AJ would even admit it. But he’s still RB1?????????? That’s bad for recruiting. Chris has earned his shot. AJ didn’t do well.

He can still be listed as the starter but play fewer minutes. I’m thinking that’s how this is going to go.

Rose needs to know that he has to perform to keep his position. This season he is fumbling and going down without a fight. If Rose can’t lose his job he has no reason to improve.

I love AJ but he’s made mistakes. Next man up. AJ can and will come back better. But right now he isn’t RB1. Fact. Love you AJ but you agree…mistakes.

I think with smoke out. Rose and Chris are going to be 1-2. Might as well give Rose the start and bring Chris in after defense gets a little tired. Way they did with Boom and Benny. Now another game might have Freshmen banging at the door and making it a different story.
