We interrupt your basketball dance party for some unfortunate football news. During the Broncos’ practice today, linebacker Danny Trevathan fractured his left knee and will be out six to eight weeks. Trevathan, who led the Broncos with 124 tackles last season, was carted off the field and had an MRI after practice, which revealed a left medial tibial impaction fracture.
Fortunately, his ACL and MCL are fine, and Trevathan is determined to get back on the field as soon as possible:
“They told me that my ACL and MCL are fine, but that I have a fracture in my knee,” Trevathan told ESPN’s Josina Anderson. The doctor told me I was going to be out four to eight weeks, but I told him four to six. I’m not tripping. I will bounce back. I’m a soldier.”
Get well soon, Danny. Minor setback for a major comeback.
