In talking about Kentucky’s offense during his appearance on Thursday’s KSR show, SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic said he is keeping a close eye on two UK offensive linemen.
The first is Drake Jackson, who took over the starting center position midway through his first season last year.
Cubelic said of the Wooford Co. native, “The more I go back and watch Drake Jackson when he filled in at center last year, I thought he did a really nice job. He didn’t get enough credit for how he played. I think people sort of view him as being an undersized guy that doesn’t move very well, but he has a real nice understanding of the position.
Cubelic also sees a ton of potential in Logan Stenberg, a sophomore who started in all 13 games at left guard.
“Stenberg just has a ton of power, a ton of power,” Cubelic said. “If he can understand leverage and he can improve a little bit more in his game, his balance and footwork, he could be one of the better guards in the SEC.”
With Eddie Gran’s praise for tackles Landon Young and George Asafo-Adjei earlier this week, it sounds like we’re in for a pretty talented offensive line in Kroger Field this fall.
