Josh Paschal has missed all of the 2018 season after he was diagnosed with malignant melanoma on the bottom of his foot shortly before what would’ve been his second year with the Kentucky defense. There was a lot of concern about his health when he was first diagnosed, but he has really improved and has even been participating in practices with his teammates.
In fact, he is doing so well, there are some rumblings he could even rejoin the team on the field as early as this coming Saturday.
Mark Stoops addressed Paschal’s playing status after Thursday’s practice, when asked for an update. Stoops said, “We’ll see. He’s been better this week. He’s been out there feeling better.”
Even if Paschal is unable to go against Middle Tennessee State, it’s great news that he is even close to returning to football. But if he is able to go, it’s an amazing comeback story and he’ll get an enormous reception from the fans in Kroger Field.
Whatever the case, it’s nice to be having this conversation right now.
