COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE! Austin Peay vs. Central Arkansas is LIVE on ESPN

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to inform you that college football is officially back.

After seven-plus months of waiting ,a real-life college football game has kicked off, as Austin Peay vs. Central Arkansas is officially underway on ESPN.

Playing at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, AL, the season-opener is taking place with a reduced capacity – about 2,000 game tickets were distributed – in the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff.

In terms of game day information, here are a few notes:

  • No tailgating allowed adjacent to the stadium
  • Seating is socially distanced (six feet apart)
  • Fans must wear a mask when entering the stadium and walking around
  • Cheerleaders are seated in the stands
  • Concession stands are open for prepackaged items

Regarding the television broadcast, ESPN reporter Lauren Sisler is live on the sideline for on-field analysis, while game announcers Matt Barrie (play-by-play) and Mike Golic Jr. (analyst) are broadcasting live from the ESPN studios in Bristol, Connecticut.

The last college football game took place on January 13 when LSU took down Clemson by a final score of 42-25 to take home the national title.

And after a long summer of chaos and uncertainty, the season is officially back.
