College football is back!!!

The Week 0 matchup between Miami and #8 Florida did not exactly start the 2019 season off with a bang. Neither team seemed very interested in ball security as The U put the ball on the turf 3 times, while the Gators had 4 turnovers (2 lost fumbles and 2 INTS). Of those 4 Florida miscues, 3 came at the hands of Junior Quarterback Feleipe Franks. Both of his interceptions came in the 4th quarter when neither team seemed like they wanted to win the game. Overall, it was a very sloppy game which can be expected this early in the season. For Kentucky fans, #8 Florida certainly showed some vulnerability.

his first start under center coming away with 10 sacks. Besides that bright spot, there wasn’t a ton for Florida fans to take away besides a 1-0 record in their 24-20 victory. The defense gave up some big plays highlighted by the 50-yard touchdown run from DeeJay Dallas to put Miami ahead to begin the 4th quarter.

Offensively, the Gators were aided by 14 Hurricane penalties that accounted for 118 yards. Florida’s first score, a 66-yard pass to Kadarius Toney, came one play after a fake punt converted a Fourth & 3. Their rushing attack was only able to collect 52 yards on 27 carries.

Overall, it was an uninspiring first contest for #8 ranked Florida. After watching from KSBar last night, the untimely turnovers, missed tackles, and big plays given up should have #BBN even more excited for our September 14th date with the Gators.

A 66 yard TD after a fake field goal? Shouldn’t we be more concerned that they have a kicker that can hit from 83 out?

Hawaii vs Arizona was entertaining; 45-38 with a Zona 30 yd run being stopped at the Hawaii one yard line as time expired.
Hawaii believes in the air ball; but, can’t expect to beat solid teams with 6 turnovers.

You could tell it’s the first game in many ways. However, SEC opens with a win as the gators hung on. That’s really all I kinda cared about (slightly).

The Gators atrugglwd with a freshman line and a freshman QB and gave up 20 points.

Miami is not that good it seems. Too many negative offensive plays due to the lack of protection. Game management and clock control was very poor for the Hurricanes.

If I am Dan Mullen I would look at that tape last night and restructure. That defense is a joke. His QB showed flashes of potential, but his consistency was just not there.

The only thing Florida’s D had was their line. That was it. Their backs were getting torched all game and couldn’t hold up at the end. If Miami’s O line could have held up just a few more plays towards the end they would have won that game but they were gased. Frank’s is exactly who he has always been. Makes horrible decisions but because of his mobility and size he is still a threat in certain situations but if you keep putting pressure on him he will fold like no other. That will be his legacy at Florida. Not sure why people get so high on him. I just don’t see it.

^^^ That’s what I was thinking….where they struggled was tackling but that D is what won them the game.

The fact that Florida is top 10 is completely unfair to every team in college football.

Miami had a young, experienced line. We will see what happens when Florida plays ours.
