Churchill Downs Doesn’t Like Kentucky

Last night Churchill Downs lit their iconic spires red in preparation for the Governor’s Cup. Normally they leave one red and blue, giving the victor both spires following the game, but Churchill Downs President Kevin Flannery decided differently for this game.
“Hey, it’s a home game,” Flanery said in the release. “The Big Blue Nation might try to kick me out of the alumni association but U of L has always been a great neighbor to Churchill Downs. But the love only goes so far; I’ll be sporting my Wildcat blue at the track on game day!”
Even though I grew up not far from Churchill, and Flannery is a fellow DeSales Colt, this is some Grade A Mularky.

So a guy with a psych degree is running Churchill Downs now. Now wonder this great institution is now going to crap.
As a Louisville resident, this makes me mad and sad. Loved the former tradition. Pretty sure Jurich and Fisher are in cahoots. Getting harder and harder to live here.
