Celebrate Jared Lorenzen’s Life as he relived his Super Bowl Victory on the KSR Football Podcast

The KSR family is devastated to hear the news of Jared Lorenzen’s passing. As we mourn through this difficult time, we cannot forget to celebrate his life.

For three years I was lucky enough to spend an hour a week talking football with Jared, Freddie Maggard and Drew Franklin. The best moments weren’t when we broke down the X’s and O’s; it was when we went off the rails.

The greatest moment of our show happened when we least expected it. Ahead of National Signing Day in 2016, I was prepared to talk about the additions of Kash Daniel, Landon Young and Drake Jackson. Instead, the conversation turned into story time with Jared.

For the final 45 minutes of the podcast, you can walk through Super Bowl XLII week with Jared Lorenzen, his proudest achievement as an athlete. Sadly, we won’t be able to put on the headsets again, but I’ll always cherish the following 90 minutes of audio. Some of what you’ll hear:

— Freddie learned how to Periscope.

— Jared brought Freddie a surprise.

— A Media Day proposal.

— How Jared’s advice helped the Giants to a score.

— The celebration at the after party and the parade through New York City.

He was a cool cat – as best as I can tell from all his times on radio – the tee shirt stuff – and such.

I’m not much of a “fan”, in all honesty. But I hate to hear this. I hope they do something for him this year.

Nick, is there any way that episode could be re-uploaded? I subscribe to the podcast on my phone but only the last 10 episodes going back to 2018 are available. Thanks, and my condolescences to you, the KSR family, and all of Jared’s friends, family, loved ones and fans — he was a great man whose heart, personality and character eclipsed his physical size. He will be sorely missed.

Thank you, Nick and KSR. I just saw the episode pop up in my player and put it towards the top of my queue; I’m looking forward to hearing it.
