Southern Miss is ranked No. 34 compared to Kentucky at No. 74. While it would not be a shock to see a 2015 bowl team ranked higher than a team that did not reach the postseason, a separation of 40 schools between the two comes as a shock.

If we start the season out with a loss to Southern Miss, expect an average of 10,000 fans the rest of the year and fans calling for Stoops head.
That’s the only way I see Stoops getting fired this year instead of next — if we lose the opener. Which is a real possibility. If he wins that game and the rest of the cupcakes but loses all the rest of the games, Barnhart will give him one more year. Which will screw the next coach because if we don’t go to a bowl game this year then recruiting is going to really suffer going forward.

I hope we win 13 games. I just don’t see that happening. If we win 4-5 like I think we are going to, then Stoops will hang around at least one more year. I don’t see him being the long term solution.
