Cavon Butler will transfer to Toledo

Cavon Butler is returning home to finish his collegiate career.

Butler is trading Kroger Field for the Glass Bowl. Tuesday night the former Kentucky defensive lineman announced he will transfer to his hometown of Toledo to play for Jason Candle’s Rockets.

Butler only spent one year in Lexington. A significant recruiting win for Vince Marrow in 2019, family issues forced him to reconsider his initial decision. On his way out the door, Marrow sent Butler his best wishes.

I have only one problem with how Butler’s decision went down: how did the graphic-makers from the MAC misspell his last name?

Any other information? Did he play much during the one year? I am sympathetic to personal family decisions, but was he going to play a big role on the DL? Not much info here…..

Wish we could have kept this young man, coach Marrow was very high on him when he committed. Wish him the best at Toledo.
