It hasn’t taken long for Bud Dupree to fit in. It’s only the second day of training camp, but Bud Dupree has already found himself working with the first team at outside linebacker. Built for a dominating Steel-Curtain defense, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Dupree is being groomed to become a starter.
“Everything is starting to click,” Dupree said. “(My goal is) to show them I know the plays and show them they can trust me.”
It won’t be easy. Learning the playbook is one of many small steps it will take to replace veteran bad boy, James Harrison.
If Bud can pull off the quick turnaround, all praise goes to Mark Stoops. Bud’s stats were never too gaudy, but he learned how to display his versatility in the pass defense in Stoops’ 3-4, the same defense Mike Tomlin employs.
