It was reported on Friday, via the Baltimore Sun, that Kentucky edge-rusher Bud Dupree will workout for the Washington Redskins. The Redskins will head down to Macon, Ga., just 30 miles from Dupree’s home, to get a closer look at the potential top-10 pick on Monday. Washington currently owns the right to the 5th pick in this year’s NFL Draft.
Most draft analysts have Dupree being selected between the 4th and 13th picks. The Raiders are 4th on the clock, and the Saints hold the 13th pick. Dupree is listed as the 3rd best edge-rusher in the draft, but multiple factors are still to be determined. With trade-talks taking place within the top-10, the only sure pick will be Jameis Winston at #1. Some teams could trade up or down, depending on their needs and who’s still on the board.
Will Bud be selected 5th overall by the Redskins? We’ll have to wait until Thursday night to find out. While we wait, check out Bud’s cool “First Draft” segment on NFL.com.
