BTI’s Rants and Ramblings: Thank You, Vanderbilt

You know, we are in the season of Thanksgiving right now so I wanted to take this post to give thanks to the one saving grace for the UK football program historically.  And that is the our little brother down the road in Nashville, the Vanderbilt Commodores.  Yes, sure, we are currently in a good state of UK football where we are competitive in most games in the SEC.  But I think we all have the scars to know that has not always been the case.  In fact, it has rarely been the case.  Now, I won’t go all the way back in SEC football history but rather move on back to 1992, when the SEC split divisions.  I picked 5 particular stats but honestly you name the stat, Vanderbilt looks the best on our record.  But I thought it would be good to throw some good vibes to our next opponent for how generous they have been to us, even in our down years, for the last 30 years.  And remember, we play Vanderbilt each and every year.  Meaning they have comprised 12.5% of our conference schedule since 1992:

And let’s don’t forget the SEC office for giving us a bye before the dreaded Vandy game. I would say laughs was lifting the roof when they pulled that one.
