Michael Drennen II is officially a Kentucky Wildcat.
This morning on KSR, the 2020 four-star playmaker announced he had officially signed with the Kentucky football program, submitting his National Letter of Intent this morning.
“Yes sir, I signed this morning,” Drennen told KSR’s Matt Jones.
On Wednesday evening, the 5-foot-11 all-purpose back out of Dublin, OH announced his commitment to Kentucky over fellow finalists USC, Florida, and Michigan, among dozens of scholarship offers.
In the hours following the decision, the University of Kentucky never officially introduced the four-star playmaker, indicating he had not officially signed with the program.
After telling the world he signed this morning, though, Kentucky has since announced the official addition.

“We are so excited to add Michael to our already strong 2020 recruiting class,” head coach Mark Stoops said of Drennen’s addition to the program. “We’ve known him since he was an eighth-grader and he’s become an extremely versatile and dynamic player with big-time play-making ability. He can help us in so many ways and he’s a great addition to our Wildcat family.”
A consensus top 250 recruit, Rivals ranks Drennen as the No. 10 all-purpose back in America, while 247Sports has him listed at No. 246 overall in their 2020 Composite Rankings.
