BREAKING: Louisville has fired Bobby Petrino

Jim Brown | USA Today

The final domino of Scandal-U has officially fallen.

According to Pat Forde or Yahoo! Sports, Louisville has fired head coach Bobby Petrino, effective immediately.

There is no update on who will take over as interim coach.

After starting the year 2-8 with current players and recruits dropping left and right, Louisville had no other option but to front the $14.1 million buyout. The Cards have lost seven consecutive games, and things aren’t getting better anytime soon.

End of an era.

He gone.

I think brohm may have his sights set higher … auburn or osu. No way does neal brown get the job. I’m thinking todd grantham. He would probably be a pretty good hire.

It wasnt just an affair. He hired his mistress to th football staff over more qualified candidates, paid her $20,000 in hush money, and lied to his boss about the whole thing.

    WOW ! Just WOW!

KENTUCKY FANS – the party is over.

The BEST AD continued the continue.

    Someone ‘pony-ed’ up.

I dislike petrino in a most intense manner (‘hate” is not strong enough).

uavel may take some time to ‘recover’.

This will not be fun for uavelians or KENTUCKY fans.

It is a process – and another MUCH needed step in the proper and legitimate direction.

And I’m not trying to be negative but it’s hard not to be after yesterday’s performance. It would’ve been a little more understandable to lose a close game to them, but to get man-handled by them is embarrassing. I bet Tennessee loses to Mizzou and Vandy.

Not really hard to be positive. Avoid saying and posting negative comments, realize you have a spoiled personality that make you thing everything can happen in an instant and realize things are progressing in a positive manner at a slower speed with some things that happen behind the scenes.

    • davis2319

ukKatzfan, Lol Kentucky football is progressing at a positive manner?? and has spoiled me?? What has happened in my 22 years of living and watching Kentucky football that would make you suggest I’m spoiled by it? Sorry I’m not an absolute loser and a reject like you are. I’m not satisfied with 7-8 wins at most in my history of watching, especially with this team who has NFL talent on both sides of the ball. It’s people like you who are so oblivious. I went down to Tennessee in Randall Cobb’s last season to watch us get killed, my family and I have been season tickets holders ever since I was born. So don’t tell me I’m spoiled you ignorant ass.

How Vince Marrow will continue to be able to recruit elite players to Eddie Gran’s boring conservative ineffective Offense, I’ll never know. If I was a top WR, or TE, I would go play elsewhere, like for Brohm at Purdue. Soon we are going to see the Gran impact on recruiting, and it won’t be good, trust me. I don’t want to go to a Bowl Game now either to see this horrible Offense suck and see us get drilled.

I don’t see why everyone hates petrino so much. For example what happened at Arkansas had nothing to do with football. That’s the problem with this country . If I’m doing my job what I do in my personal life is none of my bosses damn business. People are to phuckin nosey. I don’t care if he had an affair with every secretary or whoever you think he’s the only one see Bill Clinton

Not only that Louisville loved him when he was winning even hired him twice. Ky wouldn’t give him a chance because of what happened at Arkansas. Look at Arkansas now. My point is you don’t have to be a saint or even a good person to do a job. If he’s not breaking rules with players or on campus then he’s not doing anything wrong job wise.

Not a better coach than stoops if you look at big picture!!! Believe me I know it looks that way to some… if you just look at Xs and Os, but he does it with smoke and mirrors. He is a guy who will leave too. Nothing is built behind the scenes to last… Go look up what happens after he leaves. An average fan would say see he is a good coach, yet a better look at it, your program will never be in good shape when he leaves. Thats because the relationships behind the scenes don’t get done.

This is a major mistake, they need to keep him and be patient with him and ride out the storm. Listen, it took both joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden something like 15 years before they won a title, so at that rate they could possibly have a chance at a title in 2032. Plus c’mon guys depending on how WKU does year in and year out being the third best team in the state isn’t so bad. Keep him
