The Jacksonville Jaguars just got the best player in the NFL Draft in Kentucky’s Josh Allen.

With the No. 7 pick, the Jaguars have selected the 6-foot-6, 260-pound linebacker out of Montclair, New Jersey.

As a Kentucky Wildcat, Allen won the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Lott Trophy, and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, making him the consensus National Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named SEC Defensive Player of the Year, along with being a unanimous First Team All-SEC and All-American selection.

His senior season, Allen managed 51 total pressures, 14 sacks, nine QB hits, and 28 hurries. Over the course of four years at Kentucky, the former Wildcat accumulated 31.5 career sacks.

Now, Allen will take his talents to Jacksonville.

Sad he dropped but a better spot for him. Nicer weather, good division for weather as well. No income taxes. Selfish reasons I wanted Cincy to move up and get him but happy for Josh. Lonnie….You next…tonight?

Yea it works out in the long run but he ending up making more money due to the taxes and he will be deadly on an above average jaxonsiville defense

What is going on with the NYG? ?

Jones is the 6th ranked QB, has average arm strength a slow release.

I dont know but the implosion is AWESOME!!!

The guy has to be so much better than his stats, technique, and strength indicate, or they wouldn’t take him. Or someone is taking money from another team to tank their draft. Oh well

Agreed.. not buying the reason Raiders said (they want 4-3 def guys). Bull crap as Josh speed and step can play any scheme.

Gruden is mailing it in so far. Best option for Josh right now is to be on a D with other good playmakers. Go get ya some, Mr Allen! Use it as a chip on your shoulder. Grind them other idiots to pieces

Yeah.. kinda pissed me off too.
“He’s going to better coaching”. Well yeah I understand the NFL has overall specific defensive staffs who specializes but hell – can be said for every player who is drafted. Point is ya just don’t say that as your only comment. Bizarre kinda…

Said JA would improve even more when he gets some better coaching.

So when any player.. let’s use Tom Brady at Michigan years ago or Murray this year. Guess what guys they will or had better individual coaches in NFL that will help them. ya think? Geeze Booger.. you ought to have practiced your monologue and pre script better than how it sounded which might come from a 5th grader.

Booger said Josh will now get better coaching, the jerk

    • antiquefurnitureandmidgets
      9:23 pm April 25, 2019 Permalink

He specifically said he’d been getting by on athleticism alone and it will be fun to see him playing with good coaching. That’s more than a subtle jab.

    • UKWildcatNation
      9:27 pm April 25, 2019 Permalink

Seriously! What he said was flat out ignorant and just plain wrong. He said he could not wait for Josh Allen to get some “better coaching” because everything he has done to this point was on “God given athletic ability”…WHAT?!?! Josh went from 7 sacks to 17 sacks this year! That’s called COACHING! UK Football will never be respected.

Booger is usually better than that, he’s gotten above his raisin’ as they say in the country.

Anyone else watching on ABC? There seems to be a temporary banner in the background of the commentators on a building. It must be outside of the “perimeter” right?

I am excited to see Josh Allen at Jacksonville!!! They are my second favorite team behind the Detroit Lions… I was so excited thinking the Lions was going to get him but he went to a good situation in Jacksonville… Just curious though where he will play in a 4-3 base defense.. Will he be the DE or an outside LB… most NFL teams though play the nickel almost every down so he will get to rush the passer almost every down and will play on a talented defense

Allen was drafted 8 spots higher than Boogs Dummy. Not bad for a kid that WASNT a 4 star “destined for great things” like Boogs was out of HS. He started out at 280 and finished at about the same.

Somebody get that booger a blanket and some wipes before he sets his mommas trash pile on fire again!

17 sacks…. he recorded 17 sacks including the bowl game, which IS part of the season…. that’s almost like Mel Kiper listing Allen at 230 pounds during his senior year when he started the season at 260 pounds…. PROOFREAD bro….

Booger Mc… what a douchecanoe! Jealous much big fella? He’s just pissed the Cats beat UF in the Swamp where his Tigers choked, and they finished with the same SEC and overall record. BUT his Tigers couldn’t stop A&M AT ALL, where the Cats held them under 23 points.

Better coaching is sour grapes. Eat UP, Booger! The defensive staff at UK made your Tigers look like HS coaches

Not sure I like this pick. Allen doesn’t really fit Jags defensive scheme. Will more than likely be moved to DE and probably extensively on 3rd downs.

No bio or highlights on ABC. I think it is clear the NFL is punishing UK and Josh over the banner.
