Another draft, another Mark Stoops defensive back product selected. Brandin Echols is headed to New York, as the Jets selected the former Wildcat in the 6th round with the 200th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Echols came to Kentucky in 2019 after a JUCO All-American stint at Northwest Mississippi Community College where he was moved from wide receiver to cornerback. At Kentucky, Echols started 11 of 13 games during his junior season in 2019. During that season he was fourth on the team with 52 tackles and led the secondary with nine pass break-ups and two forced fumbles.
In 2020, Echols started in all 11 games and earned his first career interception in the Gator Bowl against NC State. This off-season is when Echols really started to wow NFL scouts. At Kentucky’s pro day, Echols cashed in with quite possibly the best individual day for a Wildcat. The 5’10 corner posted a blazing 40-time, along with an impressive showing on bench press and short-area quickness.
Brandin Echols is a CB prospect in the 2021 draft class. He scored a 9.07 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 165 out of 1767 CB from 1987 to 2021.
