Bowl MVP leaves Florida to be closer to home, doesn’t own map

Adam Lane, MVP of last year’s Birmingham Bowl, was granted his release from the University of Florida to move closer to home. Lane is from Winter Haven, Florida — a two-hour drive south of Gainesville.

Today, news broke that Lane will transfer to Eastern Kentucky — a 12-hour drive north of Winter Haven, Florida.

So, either the “closer to home” excuse is B.S. or Lane needs to enroll in Intro To U.S. Geography next semester in Richmond.

On a side note: if Lane’s name sounds familiar, you may remember when he shit his pants during that MVP bowl performance last season.

He’s in for a rude awakening when he takes a glance at that atlas on his way to his new school.

Perhaps he doesn’t want to sit out a year and this way he can transfer to another college in Florida next year and be eligible to play without sitting out?

Why make fun of the kid when he clearly fed the system a line to be able to make his own decisions?

    Make fun of Florida for:
    1. Making it hard for kids to transfer (limited exceptions)
    2. Being so backwards that this is their legacy (kids clearly lying to them to engineer some freedom)
    3. Losing top talent to EKU

He may have left FL because the pain of teasing from his teammates. Wipe the slate clean so to speak. Start fresh.

I’m sure he had a laundry list of reasons why, but ultimately it all came down to his desire to not play for #2 in the state.

Kid’s got speed. Maybe the brown spot was actually carbon scoring from his after burners….

You have to wonder about KSR sometimes. Two days ago I had a comment ” moderated” and pulled. There was absolutely nothing derogatory in the content. I was simply agreeing with another post. Then you see Drew’s post. All in good fun I guess but making fun of the young man for transferring to Eastern Kentucky is in poor taste , not to mention the wording. So he is a little challenged by geography, so what. I have seen some pro athletes with college degrees that could not put a sentence together during an interview. He may have soiled things but he did get the MVP award. LOL

This doesn’t make sense. I would question a bench player transferring from Florida to EKU, much less a bowl MVP.

There is also the possibility that “home” doesn’t mean where he went to high school at. Maybe he has some family closer to EKU.

Second option is, people do move. Maybe his family wants to get out of Florida and they are moving as well. You might want to actually do a little more research into the situation before dogging the guy, Im guessing if you know the whole story you would be more like “oh that makes more sense” than just insulting the guy for his lack of geography knowledge…

Dean Hood is racking up some talent. First Spence-now this kid. It’s gonna be like 1979 in Richmond again. Open T-Bombs back up. The Colonels are coming!

  10. Hopefully he doesn’t start any barfights with UK players or sucker punch one in a dorm.

According to Miss South Carolina from a few years ago — “Somma U.S.- Americans don’t HAVE maps. Such as… in the Iraq.”

Poke fun at the kid if you must, but must we be so off-color and crass with our language? Using scatological terminology in a serious piece is akin to picking one’s nose in public.
