Boogie Watson receiving love from Pro Football Focus

Kentucky continues to receive love from Pro Football Focus.

After highlighting how Kentucky is set to return the two highest graded offensive tackles in the SEC, PFF is moving to the opposite side of the field to show some praise. The media outlet has ranked Jamar “Boogie” Watson as the third highest-graded returning edge rusher among all Power 5 schools.

Watson, a former three-star recruit, is coming off an impressive junior season as a Wildcat that saw him record 36 tackles and a team-high 11.5 tackles for loss while starting in 11 of Kentucky’s 13 games. His 6.5 total sacks were second-most on the team behind Calvin Taylor Jr. and Watson was named a third-team linebacker by PFF in 2019.

PFF has already recognized Darrian Kinnard, Landon Young, and Max Duffy as some of the nation’s best returning players. Watson joining them is another step in Kentucky football gaining the legitimacy they’ve been building for years now.

I see a Josh Allen type jump this year for Boogie. I really do. He’s been through the wars now and knows what to expect, you just can replace that SEC experience. He has the potential to be the Defensive player of the Year in the entire Country and that’s some unbelievably high praise, but it’s 100% fact.

Lmao, I love the Big Dog. He is the perfect fit here and you can tell he loves Kentucky. I’ve said a thousand times that our staff ( yeah the same staff at Little Ol Kentucky), is the VERY BEST in the country at finding players that fit their goals and system and developing them into the 100% very best they can be.

Of course There’s some another schools that can really develop top players and make them better, but none as good as our staff! 0!!! It’s happened every year since they got here and while our recruiting has taken a climb, we still are having 2 an 3 star kids out preform the five star players around the country.

The most important thing is , now the higher level kids are taking notice and if Stoops and Co Can pull in and stay consistent around top 10 or 15, with the way they get the most out of kids, they’ll have us competing for National Championship.

I just love having a program that I can be proud of and be competitive, anything more is just icing on the cake. Lord knows I want to win the SEC EAST at least once before I die though. I do believe we’ve picked up some major ground on the teams ahead of us in the East and it’s coming. Man I need some FOOTBALL!! Go Cats

It really does feel like the East is right there for us. Once that happens though, I worry about losing Marrow or Stoops or both. But…it’s right around the corner. Within the next five seasons, I’d bet. Maybe the next three!
