Blake McClain’s Kentucky career will soon come to a close. The senior defensive back is playing his last game at Commonwealth Stadium this Saturday against Austin Peay, but there’s still football to be played.
“To be honest, this is just another game,” he said. “I wanna go bowling. That bowl game, that’s Senior Night for me.”
A win on Saturday would make Kentucky bowl eligible for the first time since 2010, but McClain won’t be satisfied with just one more win. Winning the Governor’s Cup is still on the agenda.
“I’ve been here four years and it’s been fun. I’m glad that I’m ending — well, once we get this win (Saturday) and you know, beat Louisville — I’m glad we’re ending this year the way it’s supposed to be.”
Another feat Kentucky has not accomplished since 2010, I can’t think of a better way to end the 2016 season than with a win over Lamar Jackson at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.
