Best Case/Worst Case For The Next Three Games

When the schedule was released you had to circle the four games from Louisville to Alabama and know that the Cats were facing one of the toughest stretches in the country. After one week of to prepare the team will be right in the thick of things as they are likely to be double digit dogs in all three. So do we have any hope of winning any of them? There’s always a chance. Here are my picks for the best (and worst) possible outcomes of the next three games.

Number 19 Florida

Best Case: The 26 year streak finally comes to an end as the Florida offense can’t keep up.  Jeff Driskell is put into the dirt 4 times by Za’Darius and never gets into rhythm. Max Smith is back from the hurt shoulder and has never looked better as he goes for 3 touchdowns and 350 yards. Jojo Kemp and Timmons both have monster days highlighting problems the Gators will have to deal with for years to come. Will Muschamp is relieved of his duties following the season and Charlie Strong bolts from Louisville leaving their program crippled in the ACC.

Worst Case:  Florida. once again, is just too much for the Cats. Like last season Whitlow is unable to get anything going for the Cats as Florida’s defense pitches another shutout. The Cats fall to 1-3 by losing to a subpar Florida team and the Cats begin to show signs of discontent as do the fans. The streak is pushed to 27 with no hope of it ending in the next couple of years.

@ Number 12 South Carolina

Best Case: Whitlow finishes what he started. Last season Kentucky held a 17-7 lead over the Gamecocks before giving it all up in the second half.  This year the Cats go down to Columbia and leave with a road win over a top ten team. Spurrier, devastated, announces he will retire at the end of the season and USC will go back to being a weak SEC team. The Cats continue to rise under Stoops and become that team competing for an SEC East championship. It all started with that one game in South Carolina.

Worst Case: Clowney Clowns Kentucky. Smith goes out following a big hit from Clowney and shortly after Whitlow goes too. Smith was hurt last season during this game with an ankle injury and a similar hit leaves him sidelined for the rest of the season. The Cats have to face Alabama without anyone reliable under center. Spurrier gets a contract extension and Drew Barker flips his commitment back to the Gamecocks. Not much worse this game could go than that.

Number 1 Alabama

Best Case: The best case would obviously be a win but even that seems a bit unrealistic. Alabama is the two time defending national champs and odds on favorites to do it a third time. The Cats may be able to challenge the Tide someday but as of now Alabama is just too talented. Still, stranger things have happened in the world of sports and Alabama could fall into the trap game. Even though Nick Saban would never allow that to happen. Hopefully the Cats can find a way to keep things close or at least respectable. Alabama is the best team in the nation, taking a loss in this one would be alright.

Worst Case: Kentucky Get Embarrassed. I know we’re in rebuilding mode but hopefully we are able to put some points up on the board. This game could also go wrong if the power of the SEC leaders leaves a bunch of our guys banged up. The goal for this one should be to make it through close and with our health intact. Then its on to some winnable games.

Driskell isn’t even playing. Stopped reading right there, because you’re clueless.

Well, it sure would make SportCenter if Z puts Driskell into the dirt 4 times on Saturday.

Zadarius will get thrown out of the game if he puts Driskell in the dirt. Driskell will be roaming the sideline on crutches since he is out for the season.

well your best case scenario against FL is not going to happen because Driskel is now out for the year. I understand that you probably wrote some of this stuff ahead of time, but if you’re the moderator for the day, you’d think you be somewhat tuned in to what’s going on in UK’s world right now!

Even with a considerable editorial goof up like this, KSR is STILL the best UK fan site on the web…what does that tell you?

best case: we beat florida and put up a fight against usc and alabama (alabama isn’t as good as everyone thinks, just wait and see, they will lose and handful of games to good sec teams). Worst case: we lose to florida at home by more than 20 then get manhandled by usc and bama, with injuries along the way. What i think is going to happen: we lose a close game to florida. play a good game against usc but still lose by about 17. then go to bama and make it a close one, but our young team can’t pull it out.

I am a fan. Obviously a bigger one than Andrew Cassidy who started off his article with a completely false statement. He might have written this yesterday before Driskall went down but still. Proofreading isnt that difficult

We’re going to need more production out of Josh Clemons in order to upset the Gators. Charlie Pell always has his team ready to play.

Last year Whitlow barely played against Florida. Newton took most of the snaps. Whitlow may have taken 10-12 snaps total late in the game. Do your research man.

I guess I’ll help beat the dead horse…a Driskell mention? C’mon, man. That’s one easy edit.

I won’t get hung up on the Driskell thing. That said, best case scenario is

#1 Stay healthy and #2 don’t get blown out.

#11. I agree completely; I think we have a great chance if Joey Federspiel has a monster game

Best Case: Joker Phillips and Crew take care of Urban Meyers Florida Gators using Randy Sanders playbook of Draw Plays and Screen Passes. Rick Minters defense goes “nuclear” with all the exotic blitz packages he has installed. Cats win 24-20.

Worst Case: Florida blocks another punt, and the Cats fail to score (again) in the first half against a good Gator defense. In the second half, Smith is sacked and re-injures his shoulder—Whitlow turns the ball over, and the Stoops calls upon Towles who guides the Air Raid to a couple scores. Damage has already been done and UF wins 42-17

I really did lose interest and questioned the credibility of this writer when I saw such a blatant error in his unawareness of the major story that is Jeff Driskel’s abscence. :/

Did Cassady bury his head under a rock all week? It was the top story on the ESPN website on Saturday and this guy managed to miss it? WOW
