Benny Snell Sidelined in Kentucky’s First Preseason Scrimmage

Kentucky’s All-SEC running back was not on the field for the Wildcats’ first scrimmage of the 2018 training camp.  The durable rusher was held out of the scrimmage by the coaches as he rehabilitates a calf strain.

The minor injury is no cause for concern.  He’s played through much worse, but there’s no reason to see what Snell could do in the scrimmage.  The coaches know what Benny brings to the table.

Snell was not the only UK running back absent from the scrimmage.  Redshirt sophomore A.J. Rose missed today’s action to attend a funeral in Ohio.  Without Snell and Rose, Sihiem King and a pair of freshman, Chris Rodriguez and Kavosiey Smoke, received extra reps.

Mark Stoops was not happy with what he saw today at Kroger Field.  Stay tuned to see Stoops’ full, frustrated comments.

Smart move. We don’t want Benny & his Jets injured before we open up against the SEC. My hope is that Mr. Snell Yah stays healthy – and directionally motivated – for the duration of the season.
