After six quarters as Kentucky’s starter, the Big Blue Nation was still unsure about Terry Wilson. In the second half, the UK quarterback transformed into Terry Touchdown.
Wilson sparked a scoring drive at the start of the second half by turning a busted third and long into a first down with his legs. He followed up the 90-yard touchdown drive with a 78-yard touchdown drive that ended with a 54-yard bomb to Lynn Bowden.
“I thought he overthrew me,” Bowden said. “I had to remember I was fast though, ran under it, hit my knee and prayed to God.”
Wilson completed 11-of-16 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns. He threw a costly interception at the end of the first half, but still had a 176.8 quarterback rating. Wilson’s work with his legs was even more impressive. He finished with 105 yards, the first by a UK quarterback in five years, and a rushing touchdown.
After the game, Benny Snell bragged about his quarterback at midfield.
Snell took it ten steps further a few minutes later. Speaking with local media, Snell lost his mind when he was asked about his quarterback.
“Oh my gosh, I can’t even get started on Terry. Did you see him? Did you see what he was doing?”

Benny was the happiest person on Earth. He lingered around for quite some time. Just too happy to contain his emotions, he spontaneously shouted time and time again:
“CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?!”
“OH MY GOSH!”
Snell’s joy was absolutely infectious. He loved the win, and he loves his quarterback.
