It’s illegal for college athletes to gamble on sports, but there’s nothing wrong with a little friendly wager amongst teammates. The stars of the Kentucky football have a little more on the line when the 2018 season kicks off on September 1.
Outside linebacker Josh Allen and running back Benny Snell created a friendly competition. While the two compete against history to shatter school records, they will compete against each other. Will Allen have more combined sacks and tackles for loss than Snell will score touchdowns?
Hey #BBN and @UKFootball @benny_snell and I got a friendly bet going on to see who will have more stats at the end of the season, myself with TFL’s and SACKS to Benny Touchdowns. Who do you all think will have more?

This has to be a no-brainer, right? After all, Benny does hold the UK record for rushing touchdowns. Wrong!
If the two made this bet before last season, Snell would have only won by a slim margin. Benny rushed for 19 touchdowns while Allen combined for 16.5 sacks and tackles for loss. In 2016 Allen actually had more sacks and tackles for loss (15.5) than Snell had rushing touchdowns (13).
You might also consider the records each will be chasing. Snell already has the rushing touchdown record. For Allen to rewrite the history books, he must be at his best in every game. If he matches last season’s total (10.5) tackles for loss, he will still be six behind UK’s career leader, Bud Dupree. Allen needs 12 sacks to break Oliver Barnett’s 30-year old record. If the pass-rusher can post those incredible numbers, Snell doesn’t stand a chance.
Considering all the above, will the Blitz Bro win, or will Allen be saying Snell Yeah at the end of the season?
