Avery Williamson and Wesley Woodyard to play in second preseason game

Williamson and Woodyard with Chuck Smith, former linebacker coach at UK

Make sure you all tune into FOX at 8 p.m. to catch former Kentucky football standouts Avery Williamson and Wesley Woodyard. The Tennessee Titans take on the St. Louis Rams in their preseason home opener.

Titan fans were not happy after first-team defense allowed a 10 play, 91-yard drive against the Atlanta Falcons in their preseason opener. The Titan’s struggles on defense have a lot of fans worried that this year will be the same. A defense lead by Avery Williamson will need to step up their game to squash all grumbling from fans.

No. 2 overall draft pick and former Oregon Duck, Marcus Mariota, will be making his second appearance in the league in preseason action. Mariota’s professional career did not start out too well with two quick turnovers. The former Heisman trophy winner will be another main focus of fans.

Didn’t the Bucs take Jameis Winston with the first pick? Maybe Mariotta is the second #1 pick making his second debut?

    • In all fairness, writers on big time sites and broadcasters on big time networks do that and it’s irritating. I can’t count the times I’ve heard a player called a number one pick when they really meant a first round pick.

LOL. She corrected the article. Acting like she knows something about College Football. Mediocre attempt, though. Try telling the truth during the job interview, next time. Or just tell them your a Kentucky fan and no nothing of the finer points of college football.

It would be know nothing, not “no nothing.” Just tell us you’re a Louisville fan and know nothing of the finer points of the English language.

2 great Americans. So much attention played to the offensive side of the ball here, but it would be nice to have a star like Woodyard on defense at the Linebacker spot.
