Austin MacGinnis is UK’s all-time career scoring leader

It was a big night for Austin MacGinnis, who not only hit all four of his field goal attempts, including one from 53 yards in a tie game; but also set a new school scoring record.

MacGinnis’ 16 points in the game moved him ahead of Lones Seiber (there’s a name) on the program’s scoring list, making him the all-time leader at Kentucky. Sieber held the previous record at 305 points for a career, and MacGinnis will now run away with the record as he still has six games left in UK’s regular season and a bowl game likely to follow.

“I wouldn’t trade him,” Mark Stoops said after the game.

Love Austin but in reality when your kicker is the career scoring leader, what does that say about your offense’s ability to put it in the end zone or even to convert 3rd downs? I understand that has nothing to do with Austin and his unbelievable talent and stone-cold, knock-’em down-ness, so definitely congratulations to Austin. It does seem like Gran’s looking to have a RB take over that stat though.
