In the third episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks, the L.A. Rams scrimmage in the new 100,000-seat SoFi Stadium for the very first time, while the L.A. Chargers learn to love a new a teammate, cornerback Chris Harris Jr., who signed with the team after nine seasons with the rival Denver Broncos. Episode 3 also checks in on the status of Melvin Ingram’s contract and rap career, plus one player’s private chat with Papa Favre and a lot more.
However, none of that other stuff matters in the Austin MacGinnis Hard Knocks Report, our weekly recap of Austin MacGinnis’ role on the show. So far he hasn’t kicked a football, but that day will soon come. (We hope.)
Austin MacGinnis Hard Knocks Report: Ep. 3
MacGinnis is back on camera in Week 3 after he was left on the editing room floor one week prior. Screen time is still very limited given the unique structure of this season (two teams on one Hard Knocks, coronavirus, Los Angeles, etc.), but the third episode featured a couple of quick glances at the former UK kicker.
Far left of the huddle, No. 8, staying close to four-time Pro Bowl punter Johnny Hekker. “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” – John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States
Toward the end of the episode, at the conclusion of the Rams’ first scrimmage, MacGinnis is seen walking off the field with the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Rams superstar Aaron Donald.
Approx. Screentime: 1.8 secs
There are only two episodes to go and the Rams still need a starting kicker.
