Auburn’s Duke Williams Dismissed from the Team

The Sporting News

Just 10 days away from a Thursday Night Football matchup in Commonwealth Stadium, Auburn has lost their best player.  Jay Tate of Rivals reports that WR Duke Williams was dismissed from the team today after an “off-the-field incident at a local nightclub” over the weekend.

Many thought the JUCO transfer would leave for the NFL after a stellar junior season, but “off-the-field incidents” started becoming a problem before last season ended, serving a suspension during the Outback Bowl.

The size of Auburn’s star receiver would have been a very difficult matchup for Kentucky.  Now it seems as though the stars are aligning for a second-consecutive 5-1 start.

Probably unlikely, seeing as he won’t be eligible since he was a Juco. However, the joke that UofL likes to scoop up SEC talent with a less than reputable past is still relevant.

I’m sure they’ve already lined up some ‘entertainment’ as well. Nothing to see here, move along.

Auburn’s best player? Have you watched an Auburn game this year? Guy hasn’t even been anywhere close to Auburn’s best player this season.

A real dismissal from the team or like a Ricky P indefinite suspension / dismissal?

If we play like we did against Eastern KY, Auburn will beat our Cats by a large margin. If the Cats show up and play to their ability, Commonwealth will be rocking and BBN is staring at a potential big bowl game. Take it one game at a time. Go Cats!
