Auburn WR Duke Williams punched 4 people in a bar, including his own teammate

Earlier this week, we found out that Auburn’s star wide receiver Duke Williams was dismissed from the team for an incident at Skybar, a local nightclub. Turns out Williams did quite a lot in that nightclub.

Witnesses say Williams punched four people in the bar: two security guards, a bartender assistant, and Auburn reserve center Xavier Dampeer, his own teammate.

What ticked Williams off? Apparently, a member of his posse was kicked out of the bar for not removing his sunglasses, which violated the bar’s dress code. After trying to use his celebrity to get his friend back in, Williams was thrown out himself, and that’s when the major drama started. Not surprisingly, witnesses say Williams was intoxicated at the time.

Williams was one of Auburn’s leading receivers, with 12 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown this season. If those numbers seem low, it’s probably because Auburn’s passing offense is ranked 116th in the country according to cfbstats.com. Now they’re down one more receiver amidst a quarterback battle. After Florida, I don’t want to go there and say the stars are aligning for a UK win, but thing are certainly looking up for the Cats.

Unless one of the security guards of the bartender assistant was a woman, he doesn’t meet the minimum requirement for acceptance to the U of L program.

I’m trying desperately to temper my expectations, but it is looking more and more like Auburn is sitting up on a tee for us to smash for a statement win.

I’m sure he knew after the first punch that he was done at Auburn so why not turn it into a brawl!

Duke better start getting worried because the way things are going in Louisville, he may not be able to go there to revive his career. Especially if Jurich goes down in the stripper scandal.

No disrespect Mrs. TT because I think you are probably the most solid writer on this site. But…

I don’t like posts like these. Let’s have some respect for our team. We shouldn’t be secretly happen when someone gets injured or suspended or kicked off the opposing team. We should have enough respect for our team to want to play the best the other team has to offer.

While we are at it, can we PLEASE get rid of the “1st Down Kentuckyyyyyyyy!” announcement at the games? This was fine during the Bill Curry years when we knew we weren’t going to score and 1st downs were the only thing to celebrate. But now it just makes us look sound like a middle school team. I can’t imagine any other SEC teams, other than maybe Vandy, celebrate 1st downs.

You obviously have never been to a game at another place other than UK. Most teams in the country have something they do when they get first downs.

Not sure if you’re trolling or just ignorant. Almost ALL other schools celebrate 1st downs in some form or fashion. ROLL TIDE! is heard at Alabama after every single one….they’re a little more than a middle school team I believe.

Reporting a WR dismissal from an opposing team the week before we play said team is relevant if not pertinent information to relay to the people on this site. If you don’t like it please stay off and enjoy watching tapes of your middle school Bill Curry teams of the past…

I have been to Tennessee and OSU games. Neither had a special announcement for first downs. Yes, the fans obviously clapped, but there was nothing from the announcers.

Reporting that the WR is not eligible is obviously newsworthy. Being happy he is not eligible because it gives us a better chance to win is a little desperate.

I do bitch about a lot. I also celebrate a lot. Equal amounts of both. Notice how I made sure to compliment Tyler…

Haven’t heard, but I can’t imagine us being more than a 3-5 pt favorite, even with Auburn’s struggles. They still have a lot of talent on that team.

Probably won’t come out until next week, since the game isn’t until next Thursday.

It amazes me that people come to this site knowing full well what it is and then try to convince the writers not to write in the fashion that made the site so popular. This site makes no secrets about what they are which is irreverent, sarcastic, unabashedly pro UK and anti Little Brother (as well as whoever happens to be coming up on the schedule). If you don’t like the way Tyler, Drew, Matt, or any of the other contributors present material there is a very simple solution. Go to a different website. As hard as it is for some people to understand, the whole world doesn’t have to conform to their sensitivities or preferences. If you don’t like it? See Ya.
